fleaaaa market fever

disclaimer: this post was initially lost due to the mysterious workings of the computer, but resurfaced in my drafts.. phew. so here it is(: an antiquated entry

ever heard of flea markets and all the hype about it? well i always thought they were overrated when they say you find the cheapest and nicest stuff at flea markets and not shopping centres. and boy, did light dawn upon me after i went to the flea market at havelock road yesterday! everything was going dirt cheap and the things they were selling, albeit second-hand, were nice with nicer prices! if clinical shopping centres dont work for you, simply because you cant find the things you want n as prices in singapore are so steep, then you should have been there! besides, online shopping has its limitations!haha..if you're budget conscious and looking for a good deal then hunt the next flea market down! juling and i nearly went mad from the huge array and inexpensive goods available.

initially we got lost trying to get to the ulu riverside hotel nestled somewhere along the singapore river, and when we finally reached we saw the deceptively ugly and dilapidated emerald buliding (ala timberlux centre) which hid the vibrant retail bustling within. it didnt help having juling for company cuz even though we asked each other to help us save money, we couldn't resist the temptation sucumbed to our shopaholic, this-is-too-good-to-let-off nature and shopped shopped shopped. and seriously, after the adidas bag i just bought, i was seriously broke and blew some of this week's allowance at the flea market! then again, if i had scrimped and saved i wouldnt forgive myself!haha..this was a typical scene.

juling: hey fabian, is this nice?? (flashes a pair of pin striped 3quats)

fabian: wah, not bad.. how much is it?

juling: its only 12bucks, but i need to save money cuz i spent too much already! hahaha.. help me save money!

fabian: well, id help, but if you dont buy this now you're never gonna get a bargain like this again! it'd cost a good 60bucks of you buy this from far east man..haha. then again, if you dont wanna buy i cant stop you ( raises a brow and gives the you-gonna-regret-it-if-you-dont-buy smile)

juling: ok here's $12 (to stallowner without hesitation, and whips the newly owned pair into her carrier, content)

im sure with persuasion jules could've saved 12bucks but trust me, its too good a bargain to miss! if you looked hard enough there'd be good bargains aplenty! and besides, i never knew i'd have so much fun rumaging through someone else's old stuff, let alone pay for them.. haha. the looks on our faces were classic and i swear we just kept smiling after leaving the place. i spent merely 23bucks on 3 tees while juling spent 40 on a top, 2pants and a skirt. now tell me, where do you get such painful inexpensive prices?!?! wooo. yijun bought 2 pairs of earrings and a bracelet, and her expression thereafter speaks for itself. it says, i cant believe how worth it it was! kudos to juling for spotting the flea market advert in 8days! so sue us! for not telling you about the flea market!wheeeeeee!
